Maria Grazia Chiuri's Final Dior Resort 2026 Collection

Introducing the Dior Resort 2026 collection, which marks Maria Grazia Chiuri's farewell.
Many are already calling this collection "one of the best" created by Maria Grazia Chiuri during her tenure as Creative Director of Dior.

The Dior Resort 2026 show gathered a considerable number of brand ambassadors: Natalie Portman, Ashley Park, Deva Cassel, as well as Rosamund Pike, Alexandra Daddario, Han So Hee, Valeria Golino, Beatrice Borromeo, Camille Cottin, and Rachel Brosnahan.

The show took place in Rome, in the historic gardens of Villa Albani Torlonia. "In such a personal and unique way, Maria Grazia Chiuri recreates the characters, landscapes, stories, and mythology of her city, Rome. It's a vision of the world that values qualities like the pursuit of questions, dreaminess, poetic intuition, and magical realism, defining a new constellation of delightful connections."

The collection was inspired by Francesco Piccolo's novel "La Bella Confusione" and one of Valentino's iconic collections, the "White Collection" (1968). References to Roman balls and the theater of Mimi Pecci-Blunt are also noticeable.

"Immersed in the world of the socialite, Maria Grazia Chiuri decided to revive it through the Bal de l’Imagination – a "ball of imagination" that combines all kinds of visual arts and is similar to those organized by Mimi herself."

Distinguishing features of the looks include: flounces, ruffles, fur, and draping. The color palette ranged from shades of white to nude, with accents of black, burgundy, and gold. An interesting contrast is created between delicate looks reminiscent of Roman statues and bold looks with trousers and corsets.

Notably, Maria Grazia Chiuri merged the Resort and Haute Couture shows. Indeed, 31 of the 80 outfits are couture. But this is not surprising, as it was truly a farewell show. Although many said that Maria Grazia Chiuri would most likely create another Haute Couture collection, it turned out that this would not be the case.

There was indeed a hint that the collection would be the last for Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri. Some models wore lace black blindfolds. Kim Jones used the exact same technique during his last Dior Homme show.

In any case, it was a very spectacular show, and many of us will remember it for a long time.
